            DESIGN & CONSTRUCTION

The Venom boasts the popular Functionally Superior Bullpup (FSB) stock which is designed to reduce weight and improve balance. Constructed to provide optimal comb height and length of pull, this thumb hole design accepts a bullpup version of TenPoint’s patented 3.5 lb pull Power Touch Trigger which allows for a longer power stroke.

The trigger is similar to other TenPoint triggers which means it’s only an average trigger; nothing special, but not horrible, either.

The crossbow implements a new, shorter 19.9” woven carbon fiber barrel in addition to supercharged Xtreme Limb Technology (XLT) bow assembly. Additionally equipped with New Hybrid Eccentric 2 (HE2) Cams which provides more efficient energy and a smooth draw.

The Venom utilizes DynaFLIGHT 97 string and cable system with a hard yoke system.

The riser comes with a detachable. lightweight, aluminum foot stirrup. It’s 11” ISO taper limbs are double laminated for improved strength and durability.

This Venom Package comes with the ACUdraw 50 rope cocking mechanism for reducing the draw weight and making it easier to cock. The Venom can also be ordered with the ACUdraw crank cock for about $100 more.

This bow also employs Bowjack Crossbow Noise Dampening Kit which will effectively eliminate any noise that may scare away your prey.

            PERFORMANCE

The performance of the Venom is what you’d expect from TenPoint; it’s blistering fast and deadly accurate. With a firing velocity of 372 FPS and 118 FPKE, this bad boy not only packs a punch, it can shoot clean through both game and targets like a hot knife through butter.

This accurate sharpshooting crossbow will have you filling those deer tags before the season is even half way. Get ready to hunt for even bigger game. If you’re a serious about bagging big game or pulverizing targets, this crossbow definitely has the power to do both.

The speed, power, and accuracy of this bow also ensures that you’ll be able to take down game at a further distance than ordinary bows.

Dry Fire Inhibitor prevents you from accidentally shooting the bow when it’s not loaded and preventing you from cracking or breaking one or both limbs.

TenPoint’s RangeMaster Pro scope is top-quality, sighting easily and holding true; you won’t need to replace it with a better one. It is the better one.

It gives you duplex crosshair aiming points at 20, 30, 40, 50, and 60 yards, clearly beyond the distance of ordinary scopes. The dots can either be illuminated in red or green and it has five brightness settings, making this scope is just as useful in low light conditions as it is in broad daylight.

            VERSATILITY

This Venom crossbow is absolutely versatile, but may not be appropriate for a beginner because of the high pricing point. Without considering the price, the Venom is a powerful crossbow that is perfect for both hunting or target shooting. Game, no matter it’s size, won’t stand a chance and targets will most definitely get blasted. (Make sure to have adequate backstop.)

By using the accompanying ACUdraw 50 rope cocking device, cocking this crossbow can be made a lot easier, allowing more hunters and shooters to be able to shoot this bad boy. Additionally, the bow can be ordered with the ACUdraw crank cocking device, reducing draw weight to about five pounds and allowing anyone to use this bow. Considering this, the Venom can be used by anyone with the money to buy it.

This lightweight, compact bow is also versatile enough to be carried into the bush for tracking prey or shooting from the confines of a tree stand or hunting blind. It’s maneuverable enough to be used in small spaces with no trouble.

            VALUE

While the price of the TenPoint Venom is in the high-range, some budgets will absolutely be able to afford this arrow-blasting machine.

The quality build and durability of the Venom, along with it’s design and construction, certainly equate to paying more than just an average bow. This is not your average bow.

While this crossbow is certainly top-of-the-line with quality made parts and accessories, the price point will prove to be out of reach for some archers.

The Venom does come with everything you need to get started with the following: ACUdraw 50 rope cocking device, Bowjax limb vibration dampeners, RangeMaster Scope, 3-arrow Quick Detach quiver, ambidextrous side mount quiver bracket, 6 TenPoint Pro Elite Arrows, practice points, and a sample tube of tail oil. You’ll also receive a TenPoint window sticker so you can let the world know that not only do you hunt/shoot, but you have a top-quality bow system as well.

            What do we like?

What we like about the TenPoint Venom is just about everything. You can’t argue with 372 FPS firing velocity and 118 FPKE; with those statistics, you’ll be able to bring down any game that’s legal to hunt, up to and including Cape buffalo, elk, and grizzly bears.

The Venom is deadly, just as it name suggests, as well as wicked fast and powerful; with this bow, the bigger game the better!

We like how lightweight and compact it is, making it easy to carry, super maneuverable, and able to take anywhere and shoot from anywhere.

We also love the Anti-Dry Fire Inhibitor; it’s one of our favorite features. This keeps you from making very expensive mistakes. If you’ve ever accidentally dry-fired a compound crossbow before, you’ll agree about this feature.

We also like the quality scope that comes with it; TenPoint really tacks on quality accessories. We also like the ACUdraw 50, making it so much easier to cock this 185 lb draw weight bow.

            What don’t we like?

Since there’s not really anything for us to quarrel about this bad boy, we do wish the price was a bit lower. Of course, this is a quality bow from a quality manufacturer and you get what you pay for. Unfortunately, some may not be able to afford this it.

The trigger is average, but still gets the job done. It does shoot the arrows, time after time after time, which IS the main objective of it, after all.

            What else? Nothing!

            Bottom line?

The bottom line is that the TenPoint Venom Crossbow Package is a force to be reckoned with. The Venom has blistering firing velocity and slam-down take down ability. It’s the only bow you’ll need all hunting season, no matter what you’re hunting. If you’re using it for target shooting, take our advice and invest in some compressed foam, quality targets and make sure to use a proper back stop.

Although the price may be out of range for some archers, for those who can afford it, it’s quality-made and worth the price.

The Venom, while top of the line, brings quality, top of the line accessories with it. You won’t need to buy a better scope, this one is industry leading, or cocking mechanism.

Again, it does have a high price point, if this wicked fast and powerfully accurate crossbow is in your budget, the fact that it won Game & Fish Reader’s Choice Award and Petersen’s Hunting Journal Editor’s Choice Award should further convince you that it just may be the one for you.
